Laravel development company

We build and maintain Laravel applications, from APIs and SaaS back offices to customer portals, and we take older Laravel versions up to a supported release with tests in place, so security fixes keep arriving and new packages install cleanly.

Laravel applications built to keep shipping

Krapton is a Laravel development company that builds web applications, APIs and internal tools on the PHP framework created by Taylor Otwell. Laravel is a strong choice when you want a productive, batteries-included backend: Eloquent for data access, queues for background work, Sanctum for API tokens, Cashier for Stripe or Paddle billing, Scout for search and first-party scheduling, mail and notifications. Our engineers keep controllers thin, push business rules into actions or service classes, and run slow work such as emails, imports and webhooks through queued jobs supervised by Horizon on Redis. For the interface we choose between Blade with Livewire, Inertia with React or Vue, or a separate SPA consuming a versioned API, based on who will maintain it. Admin areas are often quickest to build in Filament. Laravel is less suited to CPU-bound processing or very high-concurrency real-time systems, though Octane on FrankenPHP or Swoole and Reverb for WebSockets narrow that gap considerably.

Laravel development services

  • Custom Laravel applications

We build SaaS products, portals and line-of-business apps with Eloquent models, form requests for validation, policies for authorization and feature tests for every user-facing flow.

  • Laravel API development

Versioned REST APIs with API resources, Sanctum or Passport authentication, rate limiting and OpenAPI documentation generated from code, ready for mobile apps and third-party integrations.

  • Laravel and PHP upgrades

We upgrade old Laravel and PHP versions one major at a time, using Laravel Shift and Rector for mechanical changes and the test suite to confirm behavior after each step.

  • Queues and background processing

Imports, exports, emails and webhook handling move into queued jobs with retries, backoff, unique locks and batches, monitored in Horizon so failures are visible instead of silent.

  • Livewire, Inertia and Filament

Interactive screens use Livewire or Inertia depending on your team’s skills, and admin back offices are built in Filament with resources, policies and audit logging.

  • Performance and query tuning

We find N+1 queries with Telescope or Debugbar, add eager loading and indexes, cache expensive reads, and evaluate Octane only when request bootstrapping is the measured bottleneck.

Why teams choose Krapton for Laravel

Senior engineers, fixed scope, and code you own — the things agencies promise and rarely deliver.

  • Feature tests on every flow

Feature tests cover routes, policies and queued side effects with Pest or PHPUnit, using RefreshDatabase and fakes for mail, queues and HTTP, so refactors stay safe.

  • Static analysis in CI

Larastan at a strict level, Laravel Pint for formatting and Rector for automated refactors run on each pull request, catching type errors PHP would only reveal at runtime.

  • Eloquent used with discipline

Engineers enable Model::preventLazyLoading in development, process large tables with chunking or lazy collections, and close mass-assignment holes by defining fillable fields on every model.

  • Hosting chosen for your load

We deploy with Laravel Cloud, Forge, Vapor or containers on AWS depending on traffic shape, budget and in-house skills, and document the choice for whoever runs it next.

How a Laravel project runs with Krapton

  1. 01

    Application review

We read routes, models, jobs and composer.json, run the test suite, and note Laravel and PHP versions, abandoned packages and risky raw queries.

  2. 02

    Domain and schema design

Migrations, model relationships and authorization policies are agreed before screens, so the database reflects real business rules rather than form layouts.

  3. 03

    Build with tests

Features ship as small pull requests with Pest tests, Larastan checks and a review, deployed to staging with seeded demo data.

  4. 04

    Deploy and support

Atomic deploys, Horizon and Pulse monitoring, scheduled backups and an annual upgrade plan keep the application on a supported release after launch.

Laravel development: questions answered

What does a Laravel development company build?

Mostly web applications with real business logic: SaaS products, customer and partner portals, booking and order systems, internal tools, and APIs for mobile apps. Laravel’s built-in authentication, queues, billing through Cashier and notifications cover much of that out of the box. A Laravel development company should also handle the unglamorous parts, such as upgrades, queue monitoring, backups and security patches, after launch.

Laravel or Node.js for our backend?

Choose Laravel when you want a full-featured framework with conventions for most backend needs and a team comfortable in PHP; choose Node.js when your team is TypeScript-first, you need many long-lived WebSocket connections, or you want to share code with a JavaScript front end. For typical CRUD-heavy business apps, Laravel usually gets to a maintainable first version with fewer decisions to make.

How do you upgrade an old Laravel application?

One major version at a time, with tests guarding each step. We first add feature tests around critical flows if they are missing, then upgrade PHP and Laravel in sequence, using Laravel Shift or Rector for mechanical changes and replacing abandoned packages along the way. Each major Laravel release receives bug fixes for a limited period and security fixes for a while longer, so an annual upgrade habit avoids large, risky jumps later.

Can a Laravel application handle high traffic?

Yes, when it is built and hosted with load in mind. Most scaling work is ordinary: indexed queries, eager loading, Redis caching, queued side effects and horizontally scaled stateless web servers behind a load balancer. Laravel Octane keeps the framework booted between requests on FrankenPHP, Swoole or RoadRunner for higher throughput, but it requires code that does not leak state between requests, so we audit singletons first.

What shapes the cost of Laravel development services?

The size of the domain and the condition of any existing code shape it most. Drivers include the number of user roles and workflows, payment and third-party integrations, reporting needs, whether a front end is Blade, Livewire, Inertia or a separate SPA, data migration from a legacy system, the gap between your current Laravel version and a supported one, and hosting and compliance requirements.
